We have our presenters lined up for the next Ministry School. In line with one of the Lambeth Calls, we are focusing on becoming communities of reconciliation. The Rev’d Michael Wood and Sally Prebble will be our guest speakers. Michael heads up an ecumenical Australasian group which teaches non-violent peacemaking. He was instrumental in establishing restorative practices in some of the residences at the University of Western Australia while he was chaplain there, and has been called in by the Diocese of Brisbane for two Synods to help them reshape the way they meet and communicate and make decisions. His book “Practicing Peace” has just been shortlisted in the Sparklit (SPCK) Australian Christian Book of the Year Awards. He will both be part of the Ministry School and run extra days on either side of the School for those wanting to explore the possibilities and many practicalities of Talking Circles at more depth. Sally Prebble is an expert in Non-Violent Communication, which is a technique used world-wide – particularly in efforts to reach out across differences in Israel-Palestine. She is also, which helps, a local!
