Dale Williamson
Dale is a retired vicar living in Tauranga with her husband, Paul. She is a mother of 5 adult (& married) children and Grandma to 15 with one more on the way. Dale was ordained in the Dunedin Diocese 33 years ago and so is familiar with Dunedin. Later, she worked in both the Wellington & Waiapu Dioceses, sometimes as a vicar and sometimes as an Archdeacon. Over the years Dale has been very involved in leadership of the New Wine Camps and in 2014 attended a course in Boston on teaching Contemplative Prayer. She sees that the spirituality of the Charismatic Movement & Contemplative Prayer both lead to Christians being refreshed and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
What to expect:
The goal is, for all who attend this Quiet Day, to be spiritually refreshed. It will be about each person’s personal spiritual life and their relationship with God. We will look at the practice and theology of Christian Contemplative Prayer, and then cover three Contemplative approaches to prayer:
There will be teaching, followed by times of silence when everyone goes and practices each approach. However, there will also be times to feedback and ask questions etc.
This will probably be new for some but a refresher for others.
