Diocesan Advent Calendar
Faith communities and individuals across our Diocese have combined ideas to create a daily Advent Calendar. You are welcome to join us and connect each day with another part of our wide-flung Diocese.
Love came down at Christmas,
Love all lovely, Love divine;
Love was born at Christmas;
star and angels gave the sign.
(Verse 1 of the poem by Christina Rossetti , published 1885)
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ this Christmas, we reflect this Advent that our world continues to be one of pain, uncertainty and anxiety. It is more important than ever to remember that Jesus Christ is God With Us (Emmanual), and this is always a message of Love, Peace and Reconciliation.
As you connect with friends, strangers, your own family-whanau, join with the whole company of Saints and Angels in heaven proclaiming “Glory to God in the highest, and Peace to all people on earth…” (Luke 2: 14).
Have a wonderful Christmas and a love-filled 2025
