Diocesan Retreat

 Welcome to this retreat and a few days which will offer a taste of the Benedictine life of balance – feeding the soul, the mind and the body through worship, study and physical work and/or exercise. The centuries-old wisdom of St Benedict, first abbot of Monte Casino, continues to attract interest today – from religious people wanting to find more time for God, to business people and busy parents wondering how to get some order in their lives.

Please aim to arrive for a 2pm start on the 6th. We will wrap up around 2pm on the 8th.

Event Venue: En Hakkore Retreat Centre, Waipiata.

This is a live in Conference open to anyone in our Diocese, although clergy and lay ministers are particularly encouraged to come. The Retreat Centre has very basic accommodation, so if you would rather stay overnight in another accommodation in Waipiata, indicate that below.

The standard registration fee is $200 (incl. GST) per person, which includes food, accommodation and the costs of the retreat leaders. This is heavily subsidised to enable as many people as possible to attend. If this is a difficulty for you or your ministry unit, please contact Anne van Gend on enabler@calledsouth.org.nz.

If you choose to find and pay for your own accommodation, the registration fee will be reduced to $140.

Please bring a Bible, Prayer Book, writing material and any personal items you require. You will also need your own sheet, pillow case and towel.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided during the retreat and hot drinks during morning and afternoon teas.
