Assistant Chaplain – Part Time / Full Time with Religious Studies Teaching
Diocesan School for Girls is a high performing independent Anglican School with an outstanding reputation for excellence in all aspects of achievement. The School seeks an Assistant Chaplain to assist our Chaplain with the worshipping life of the school and services in the Chapel of our Glorified Lord. Community engagement and delivering pastoral care are integral parts of the role.
The successful applicant should be an Anglican Priest (preferably of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia), have tertiary theology qualifications and be skilled in communicating effectively with children, adolescents and adults. Willingness to become involved in the School’s cultural, academic and sporting life is key.
A full time position is possible for an applicant with New Zealand Teaching registration to additionally teach an expansive Yr7-13 Religious Studies curriculum in our forward thinking Religious Studies Department. Knowledge of NZ context, Christianity, philosophy of religion, ethics, and world religions are vital to our programme.
