St John’s Theological College trains students for ministry and mission within the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. The College has a close relationship with the University of Otago and offers diploma courses in Christian Studies. For the past 170 years it has been situated in spacious and historic grounds at Meadowbank and provides training for up to 60 residential students and currently a similar number regionally on a part-time basis.

The Principal/Manukura of the College is wishing to appoint an ordained Anglican priest to fulfil two roles within the College. One is the supervision of students in mission and ministry placements as they reflect theologically on their practice in varied contexts. Included here will be building placement relationships and organising the details of these, offering feedback to students and supervisors, facilitating supervisor training events, exploring new contexts for ministry and mission and supporting students within church and parachurch organisations. The second focus is teaching within the College’s delivery of the NZ Diploma in Christian Studies. Preferable areas of teaching expertise would include theology, church history and/or liturgics.

Applications will close on Friday 16 September, 2016 and it is hoped that the successful applicant would take up the role as of 1 February, 2017.
