On July 19th we will celebrate the opening of the doors of the church in July 1865.
At 10.30am there will be a High Mass with Bishop Richard Randerson preaching. This is followed by a potluck lunch; everyone is very welcome.
At 7.00pm there is a panel discussion. ‘Responding to Winds of Change: A Conversation on the Church in the Public Square’ How can the Church raise its voice on ethics, justice and peace in Aotearoa today? Speakers will include Marian Hobbs, (Facilitator of community engagement on social concerns, former MP and Cabinet Minister), Bishop Richard Randerson, (former: Anglican social justice commissioner, assistant bishop of Canberra-Goulburn, Dean of Auckland), and David Tombs, (Professor of Theology and Public Issues). At 9pm there is a Taizé service with benediction, this service is followed by supper.
