Jesus took the initiative when it comes to making relationships, and in a context where loneliness, isolation and feeling unwanted and unloved are all too common, he invites us to do likewise.
Neighbours Day offers a fantastic opportunity to connect with those who live around us – take over some baking, offer to help with the garden, babysit for a young family, or simply say hello.
We recently set aside two afternoons to meet the 40 or so households on our little street, but met only a quarter of these because everyone was so friendly and chatty!
We all know that people with whom we have a relationship are more likely to respond positivelyto our invitation to join a Discovery group or Alpha course – so the first step is to connect with the people among whom God has planted you.
